The power given is for the purpose of spreading the Gospel universally. Scripture 2: Acts 8:1, 4 (ESV) Scripture Text: 1 And Saul approved of his execution. And there arose on that day a great persecution against the church in Jerusalem, and they were all scattered throughout the regions of Judea and Samaria, except the apostles. 4 Now those who were scattered went about preaching the word. Meaning: This passage describes the aftermath of Stephen's martyrdom, where persecution drives believers out of Jerusalem into Judea and Samaria. The scattering, which could be seen as a setback, turns into an opportunity for spreading the Gospel more widely as the believers continue to preach the word in new regions. Scripture 3: Isaiah 32:1-2 (ESV) Scripture Text: 1 Behold, a king will reign in righteousness, and princes will rule in justice. 2 Each will be like a hiding place from the wind, a shelter from the storm, like streams of water in a dry place, like the shade of a great rock in a weary land. Meaning: Isaiah's prophecy speaks of a future time when righteous leadership will bring justice and protection. The imagery used—hiding place, shelter, streams of water, shade—portrays security and refreshment. This foretells the impact of godly governance and how it can nurture and protect the populace.
